hello fashion illustration.

HELLO FIRST FASHION ILLUSTRATION AND YES, CLEARLY THIS WENT HORRIBLY WRONG AND WAS ABANDONDED HALF WAY THROUGH BECAUSE IT WAS HOPELESS, I DIDN'T LIKE THE FACT IT WAS SO CLOSE UP AND THERE WAS A LACK OF DETAIL ON THE ORIGIONAL PICTURE SO IT LOOKED TO PLAIN AND MEANINGLESS, I ALSO DON'T LIKE THE USE OF 'WALLPAPER' FOR COLLAGE USE, IT LOOKS CHEAP AND MESSY AND ALTHOUGH THE TEXTURE MAKES THE PIECE LOOK MORE 3'D IT MAKES THE LINES LOOK TO FLAT THEREFORE THERES JUST TO MUCH OF A JUXTAPOSITION FOR THIS PIECE TO HAVE WORKED.

THIS WAS MY ILLUSTRATION OF AN AVATAR. NO, I'M JOKING BUT IT DOES SHARE AN UNCANNY RESEMBILENCE RIGHT? I GUESS I'M MORE HAPPY WITH THIS ONE AS IT HAS MORE DETAIL. I GOT BORED OF COLLAGING BY THIS POINT AND DECIDED TO PLAY WITH INK AND SEE HOW THAT WOULD LOOK SO MY ORIGIONAL IMAGE WAS PHOTOCOPIED TWICE SO I COULD EXPERIMENT WITH THE INK WITHOUT RUIENING MY ORIGIONAL ILLUSTRATION. I PREFER THE IMAGES WITH THE INK ON HOWEVER I'M STILL NOT HAPPY WITH THE LOOK OF IT. FIRSTLY I TRIED EXPERIMENTING WITH THE INK HEAVILY IN THE BOTTOM CORNER AND LIGHTER TOWARDS HER FACE AND THE OPPOSITE FOR THE SECOND ONE.
IF I WAS TO DO THIS AGAIN I WOULD STUDY THE IMAGE MORE AND BE MORE SELECTIVE TO WERE THE INK WAS PLACED. I DO LIKE HOW THE DETAIL WAS STITCHED AND NOT CREATED USING CUT UP CARD BECAUSE IT MAKES IT LOOK LESS THOUGHT ABOUT WHICH GIVES AN EFFORTLESS YET CLEAN LOOK.

I'M ACTUALLY QUITE HAPPY WITH THIS ILLUSTRATION IF I'M HONEST, I LIKE HOW MOST OF IT IS STITCHED AND THE THREADS JUST HANGING OFF ALMOST CARELESSLY. I DECIDED I WANTED VERY LITTLE COLLAGE PIECES ON THIS PARTICULAR ILLUSTRATION AS THE DETAIL WAS IN THE FACE AND DRESS AND IT WOULD LOOK TO MUCH OTHERWISE.
IT WAS ACTUALLY QUITE HARD TO CUT OUT THE CORSAGE BECAUSE I DECIDED TO CUT OUT EACH INDIVIDUAL PIECE AND PIECE IT BACK TOGETHER AFTERWARDS LIKE A JIGSAW, OVERALL I'M PLEASED WITH THIS THOUGH.
ANOTHER FAILED ILLUSTRATION, OH HOW I TRY.
THIS ONE COULD JUST NOT BE SALVAGED, IT WAS JUST TO PLAIN AND HARD TO WORK WITH, THE ONLY THING I LIKE ABOUT THIS IS THE FACT IT'S A FULL LENGTH IMAGE WHICH DISPLAYS THE CLOTHES NICER. I USED NEUTRAL COLOURS IN THIS AS I THINK THEY LOOK MORE CLEAN ALONG WITH THE BLACK LINE. THE ONLY THING I REALLY LIKE ABOUT THIS ILLUSTRATION IS THE SHOE BECAUSE ITS MORE DETAILED, I THINK I'M GOING TO STICK TO DETAILED PICTURES TO ILLUSTRATE FROM NOW ON AS I JUST THINK THEY LOOK WAY BETTER.

HELLO STENCLING. FIRST I TRIED THIS WITH A CLOSE UP PICTURE TO CAPTURE THE DETAIL OF THE FACE BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK OUT BECAUSE IT JUST LOOKED LIKE A CUT OUT A MASSIVE BLOB (WHICH I DID) SO I RESORTED TO A MORE 'FAR AWAY' PICTURE WHICH I THINK WORKED ALOT BETTER. I'M STILL NOT HAPPY WITH IT THOUGH, FIRST OF ALL SHE LOOKS LIKE KATE WINSLET (WHY DO ALL MY ILLUSTRATIONS LOOK LIKE SOMEONE?!) SECOND OF ALL SHE LOOKS LIKE A POP ART PIECE WHICH I GUESS IS FINE IF YOU LIKE POP ART BUT THATS DEFEATING THE WHOLE POINT. AFTER I CUT OUT THE SECTIONS I WANTED FILLED IN I SPRAYED IT WITH BLACK INK TO SEE HOW THAT WOULD LOOK AND IT LOOKED VERY PLAIN AND FLAT SO THEN I ADDED DIFFERENT COLOURS AND BLENDED THEM TOGETHER BY PADDING IT WITH A SPONGE. IF I WAS TO DO THIS AGAIN I WOULD BE MORE SELECTIVE WITH WHAT AREAS I SELECT TO CUT OUT SO IT'S LESS OBVIOUS AND LOOKS LESS LIKE THE PHOTOGRAPH BUT MORE LIKE AN ILLUSTRATION THEREFORE I WOULD SELECT THE INTERESTING SHADOWS AROUND HER FACE UNLIKE SECLECTING HER EYES, EARS AND NOSE.
