So horay i finally have a final design!
not like i really should be happy about this concidering everyones nearly done but it's better late than never.
God, it was so hard to be original with this project as it's been done so many times but i think i've cracked it trying to keep it current.. SO the current research i had didn't really inspire me design wise however i picked up the 'men in skirts' book and started looking back at the royals and how the men used to wear skirts (e.g henry VII) and how Vivienne Westwood dressed the punks in skirt/trousers to mock this fashion movement then when punks died out the new romantics took over e.g Boy George, and Bowie wearing dresses and skirts as a fashion movement and as a rebellion and escape from british society. Mick Jagger also did this by 'wearing what was essentially a white moiré mini-dress over white trousers.. his lips smeared with blood-red lipstick, his hair newly washed and hanging over his shoulders, gave a performance of unprecedented sexual ambiguity' in the style of quite a long formal shirt (which made me think - how about designing a long dress/shirt to mimic the formal wear of the priminister however keeping in touch with the rebellion/transvestite theme as it's quite a male dominated field.. i'm not quite sure however to have a shirt, tie & (and a leather jacket/blazer with a roughed tie detail to reflect punks and the formal suit blazer) with a organza skirt (with "the establishment has gotten worse... only its veneer looks better, more polished, but inside it's a greater mess. Deeper than ever is pretence and hypocrisy and put under closer guard are the backroom shenanigans." embroidered on to reflect the composed and presentable upper half juxtaposing with the exposed truth of the bottom half) on a man or similar but with trousers for a woman to keep it quite androgynous and to be quite contiversial because it's not a female dominated field and it would still be quite 'drag' as shes wearing a shirt, blazer and trousers which men typically wear..
